Satirizing AI Originality: Michelangelo Just Rearranged Existing Techniques
ctjlewis · x · 2026-08-11
Developer ctjlewis tweeted a satire mocking the hype around AI-generated content. He deliberately uses a dismissive tone about the great artist Michelangelo: "Michelangelo. Cool guy. Mostly just rearranged existing colors and existing sculpting techniques, though. Not exactly breaking new ground there. Frescoes been around for a while." This ironically targets the double standard of devaluing human creativity as mere recombination of existing data while overpraising AI outputs.
