Following Claude's recent progress on the Riemann hypothesis, experts clarify a crucial mathematical nuance: even if statistical methods proved that 100% of non-trivial zeros lie on the critical line, it still wouldn't fully settle the Riemann hypothesis. There could still be a finite number of exceptions off the line. Since there are infinitely many zeros, this finite number of exceptions would statistically represent 0%, highlighting the gap between statistical breakthroughs and rigorous proof.
