Grok 4.6 Drops Today: A Comparison of Supported Coding Tools

xAI has released the Grok 4.6 model today. The author tested and compared several mainstream coding tools that support the model using the original harness (Grok Build CLI) and Cursor:
- Zed: Runs the model but is the most basic, lacking plan mode, image/voice support, and remote capabilities.
- T3 Code: Best for engineers needing native mobile apps and multiple model switching, but lacks fork, image generation, and voice support.
- Cursor: Good if you already pay for it, but cannot drive the Grok Build agent, and its remote feature runs cloud agents.
- Grok Build (Community): Best for knowledge workers and engineers wanting Grok's media features (imagine, LaTeX, Mermaid) or full voice control. Not affiliated with xAI.
