The author tested the newly released Grok 4.6 across several popular coding tools:
- Zed: Runs the model but offers the thinnest feature set, lacking plan mode, image input, voice, and remote capabilities.
- T3 Code: Best for engineers working with multiple models who need native mobile apps, though it lacks fork, /imagine, and mid-turn steering.
- Cursor: Best if you already pay for it, but it can't drive the Grok Build agent directly and runs cloud agents instead of local sessions.
- Grok Build (Community): Ideal for knowledge workers and engineers wanting Grok's media features (imagine, LaTeX, Mermaid) or full voice control. Not affiliated with xAI.
