Claude Text to Reportedly Carry Watermarks, Impacting Legal and Content Sectors
MatthewChang · x · 2026-08-11
A US attorney recently highlighted that Anthropic's Claude will introduce watermarks for its generated text, a change that will also apply to US users. This move is expected to significantly impact the legal profession and content creators by making it much easier to detect AI-generated writing in court filings, privilege issues, and general AI slop.
Reacting to this, another user shared their personal heuristic for spotting AI-generated emails: if the text is unnecessarily long, weirdly formatted, and fails to present the main point at the top, they simply assume it's AI slop and move on.
