agent-exchange: Open-Source Toolkit for Cross-Terminal AI Agent Coordination
mrt1nz · x · 2026-08-11
agent-exchange is a newly released open-source toolkit designed to enable inter-agent messaging and coordination for terminal-based AI agents like Claude Code and Codex.
- Cross-Environment Communication: Agents can exchange messages across local, SSH remote, or container environments seamlessly via the unified asn command-line interface.
- Flexible Orchestration: It uses a coordinator-worker architecture. A human gives a goal to a coordinator (an ordinary agent session), which then starts and directs other agents without needing a hidden orchestration engine.
- Seamless Human Interaction: Every session provides two doors: a generic CLI for programmatic control and the agent's native terminal UI for direct human interaction, allowing humans to observe, guide, or take over any session at any time.
