US AI Talent Concentrated in Four Hubs, Education Gap Raises Concerns

The author highlights that US AI talent is heavily concentrated, with about half in California and another 25% across New York, Washington, and Massachusetts—centering around the Bay Area, NYC, Seattle, and Boston.
This concentration exposes a massive failure in high school and college education to teach AI skills. With much of the current talent being immigrants from China, India, and Europe, 99% of Americans are effectively sidelined from driving the AI economy forward. The author calls for significant educational improvements to empower more domestic talent.
