Suno Limits AI Music Downloads to Curb Streaming Abuse

AI music generation platform Suno announced that starting Sept 3, it will cap downloads: Free users get 7 lifetime, Pro 20/month, and Premier 60/month (unlimited generation in Studio remains). Listening and sharing stay unlimited, but extra downloads will cost extra. The limit applies to all songs, including previously generated ones.
The policy aims to stop bad actors from mass-exporting AI tracks to flood streaming platforms, aligning with recent label deals and new licensed models. However, many paid users—especially annual Pro subscribers—are upset, feeling that a mid-subscription change restricts genuine creators who already paid for unlimited downloads.
