Codex/Claude Code Support Cross-Session Access to Preserve Context
yangyi · x · 2026-08-11
Dotey shared an experience using a new feature in Codex and Claude Code: they now support cross-session access. In a real-world workflow, if a user encounters a poor experience in a sub-project (like video transcription), they can simply pass the current Session ID to the Agent within the source code project.
The Agent can then automatically retrieve the necessary context from the historical session to analyze the issue and suggest optimizations. This avoids the information loss that comes from manually summarizing context, greatly improving multi-project collaboration. Comments note that NewMax has supported this feature for a while.
