While using Claude Code and Codex together within an app to fix bugs, a developer noted that Codex adds an unnecessary layer of complexity for governing agent access to repositories, whereas Claude operates with native-level permissions.
The developer also highlighted an impressive feature of Claude Code: thanks to complete session persistence and continuity, the agent proactively brought up an issue it had pointed out in a previous conversation. This ability to track tasks across sessions makes the agent feel uniquely alive.
