Anthropic to Embed Invisible Text Watermarks in Claude Outputs for EU AI Act Compliance
max_paperclips · x · 2026-08-11
Anthropic announced that new Claude models will embed invisible watermarks in all generated text across all platforms where Claude is available, as part of an EU AI Act code.
The watermark is integrated directly into the text rather than as metadata, meaning it will persist when copied and pasted elsewhere and may survive some editing. This feature will apply to models launched on or after August 2, 2026, with plans to extend it to current models. The rollout will be worldwide.
