Indian Housekeeping Startup Collects Physical World Data to Train Humanoid Robots
创业邦 · wechat · 2026-08-11
Indian on-demand housekeeping startup Pronto has introduced a recording service where cleaners wear lightweight cameras. Beyond reassuring clients about theft, these videos are anonymized and sold to US AI companies to train general-purpose home robots.
As embodied AI booms, robotics firms have a massive demand for real-world video data of human physical tasks. Cleaners receive double pay for these recorded shifts, enabling a redistribution of AI wealth to blue-collar workers.
Pronto's model not only organizes India's fragmented housekeeping market, providing dignity and safety for female workers, but also demonstrates the commercial potential of combining data collection with instant services.
