Claude Advances Riemann Hypothesis; Researcher Suggests Updating Model Priors with News
repligate · x · 2026-08-11
Anthropic previously demonstrated a research version of Claude attempting the Riemann hypothesis. While it didn't solve it, the model made strides on a related problem, increasing the lower bound for the fraction of zeros satisfying the hypothesis from 41.6% to 67.2%.
A researcher noted that publishing such breakthroughs helps update model priors regarding their capabilities. They even suggested explicitly prompting models to check recent AI and math news before tackling hard problems, allowing them to grasp their true potential.
