Unreleased Claude Tackles Riemann Hypothesis, Raising Zero Bound to 67.2%

Anthropic tasked an unreleased research version of Claude with the Riemann hypothesis, a famously unsolved problem in mathematics.

While it didn't solve the conjecture, the model made significant statistical progress on a related problem: it increased the lower bound for the fraction of Riemann zeta function zeros satisfying the hypothesis from 41.6% to 67.2%.

A Harvard mathematician noted this is arguably the most impressive result AI has produced in math to date, breaking a decades-old barrier.
