Following Anthropic's announcement to make Claude Sonnet 3.5's introductory pricing ($2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens) permanent, a developer pointed out that DeepSeek can be used as a solid alternative.
The developer noted that DeepSeek is basically free to use and performs almost just as well as Claude in practical tasks, making it an incredibly cost-effective choice.
