Linux founder Linus Torvalds stated that the upcoming Linux Kernel 7.2 release is "huge" largely because AI tools are reviewing code and surfacing fixes at an unprecedented pace.

While he previously complained that AI-powered bug reports made mailing lists unmanageable due to low quality, he clarified that Linux is not an "anti-AI project." The open-source community is gradually making peace with AI tools reshaping their development workflows.
