Perplexity Agent API Integrates Kimi K3 with Automated Data Story Workflow

Perplexity officially announced that its Agent API now supports Moonshot's Kimi K3 model, hosted exclusively on U.S.-based servers.
Alongside the integration, they released a practical cookbook titled Grounded Data Story with Kimi K3. The guide demonstrates how to build a CLI tool that transforms any topic into a polished, source-linked interactive HTML data story. Key workflow features include:
- Single-Job Orchestration: One submitted Agent API job autonomously handles live web search, evidence synthesis, data visualization, and front-end implementation.
- Data Grounding & Anti-Hallucination: Every statistic and plotted value must reference a numeric API search-result ID. Canonical titles, dates, and URLs are injected directly from API metadata rather than trusting model-generated links.
- Durable Execution: Utilizes a background mode that saves the response ID and polls the same run under a local deadline without resubmitting paid requests. The final self-contained output works offline with a restrictive Content Security Policy.
