Claude Code Cross-Session Messaging Enables Shared Agent Memory
ItsJustManager · reddit · 2026-08-10
Anthropic recently shipped cross-session messaging for Claude Code, allowing different coding sessions to discover and communicate with each other. For instance, a session working on a feature branch can tell a review session what just landed.
The author leveraged this feature to design a multi-agent coordination and shared memory setup: sessions use messages for live coordination and log critical information to a local tracker (like Notion, Obsidian, or the author's app, Pad). This allows fresh sessions to read the tracker and seamlessly continue where the last session left off.
