MCPd: A Payment Layer Enabling Pay-Per-Call Micropayments for AI Agents

A developer has introduced MCPd, a payment middleware designed specifically for Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers. Currently, AI agents operating within workflows like Cursor or Claude cannot manually navigate checkout pages or fill out credit card forms to purchase subscriptions, making it difficult to monetize MCP tools.
MCPd addresses this by acting as a payment bridge between agents and tools, facilitating pay-per-call micropayments. This allows AI agents to autonomously complete transactions for single tool calls without manual intervention or traditional subscription models.
