Meta Releases Muse Glimmer 30B: An Open-Source Multimodal Model for Local Agents
mervenoyann · x · 2026-08-10
Meta has released Muse Glimmer 30B, a new open-source multimodal model. Distilled to 30B parameters and licensed under Apache 2.0, it is specifically optimized for local agentic use cases like coding, document analysis, and privacy-aware personal assistants.
Hugging Face has shipped day-0 support across its ecosystem, including transformers, llama.cpp, and vLLM, featuring DFlash integration for 2-4x inference speed-ups.
According to the released benchmarks, the model demonstrates strong performance in general agentic and agentic coding tasks (such as SWE-Bench), outperforming similarly sized competitors like Gemma4-31B and Qwen3.6-27B.
