Scholar Warns AI Paper Formalization Could Become a New Peer Review Proxy

A scholar points out that for just a few dollars, GPT-Pro can easily generate a full public formalization for an entire paper, including the causal DAG, implied estimands, required assumptions, and exact evidence receipts.
However, he sharply predicts that this AI-driven verification process will eventually devolve into a new reputation proxy, much like peer review did. People will blindly trust papers simply because they "passed AI checks," a trend he believes has zero chance of going well.
