Nature Communications: Constructing Artificial Neural Manifolds with Mott Memristors

AnnaCiaunica · x · 2026-08-10

Nature Communications published a new study on "Artificial neural manifolds."

Researchers constructed artificial neural manifolds using Mott memristors. This structure mimics the collective coordination of biological neurons, forming a compact, low-dimensional manifold to represent information.

Experiments show that this architecture not only yields bell-shaped tuning curves similar to biological neurons but also enables rapid, accurate, and robust spatiotemporal information prediction while significantly reducing the number of required samples.
