Running Minimax H3 Video Editing on RTX 3060: System RAM is the Bottleneck
Obvious_Set5239 · reddit · 2026-08-10
A developer tested Minimax H3's video editing capabilities on an RTX 3060 (12GB VRAM) + 64GB RAM setup, finding that system RAM became a bigger bottleneck than VRAM.
- Performance: Using the lightx2v turbo lora v0.1, it took 100 seconds for 4 steps, with RAM usage nearing 100%.
- Pitfalls: When using Pikachu as a reference image, the model forced the reference onto the character, resulting in "Rick in a Pikachu costume" rather than Pikachu itself. Removing the reference image worked better, though the model still struggled with character height differences.
