Harvard and MIT have introduced MatrAIx, a population-scale simulation infrastructure designed to model the behavior of nearly every person on Earth using 8.3 billion AI agents.
- Data Dimensions: The core dataset, Persona 8B, contains 8.3 billion unique profiles, each defined across 1,290 categorical dimensions covering demographics, psychological traits, spending habits, tech literacy, and lifestyle.
- Applications: More than a static database, it brings personas to life as agents powered by frontier LLMs. It serves as an evaluation infrastructure for digital products and AI systems, supporting surveys, chatbot evaluations, web prototype testing, and app feature assessments.
