Former OpenAI policy chief Miles Brundage argued that normalizing recursive self-improvement as an explicit pursuit was a massive mistake for the AI industry.
He clarified that while almost everyone outside AI companies thinks it's an insane idea, people within these companies have gradually normalized it over the past few years.
