ChatGPT Memory Bug? Users Report Years of Saved Memories Suddenly Wiped

A Reddit user reported that their ChatGPT Memory suddenly stopped recalling a year's worth of saved personal information, such as pet birthdays. More critically, new memories are also failing to save.
The user stated they never manually deleted any data and kept the feature enabled. After contacting OpenAI Support, they were told that staff cannot inspect account-specific saved memory data that isn't currently visible, making it impossible to confirm if the old memories are permanently gone. The user is seeking advice from anyone who has successfully recovered their lost memories.
