Shenzhen-based startup LUMISTAR introduced LUMISTARCARRY, an AI basketball training robot. The product raised $600,000 on its first day on Kickstarter, with early bird pricing starting at $2,399.
The core selling point is upgrading traditional ball machines into an "AI coach":
- Visual Tracking: Equipped with four 4K cameras and a 190° ultra-wide field of view to capture player movement and ball trajectory, enabling precise passing across the court.
- Action Analysis: Uses AI vision to track the shooting kinetic chain, compares it against pro player models for optimization tips, and generates shooting heatmaps and personalized plans in the app.
LUMISTAR previously launched a smart tennis robot, TERO, and plans to expand its sports robotics line to soccer and badminton.
