Vjeux Fixes Agent Scaling Bottleneck: Replacing Frequent Worktree Creation with Folder Pooling

Vjeux · x · 2026-08-10

Vjeux shared a performance bottleneck he encountered while scaling AI agents and his solution.

His previous approach involved creating and tearing down a Git worktree for every task. While the operation itself was fine, it triggered the antivirus and search indexing to re-scan up to 5,000 files each time, causing a massive spike in system load.

The ultimate fix was to abandon the frequent creation and destruction in favor of maintaining a persistent pool of folders for reuse, thereby eliminating unnecessary system resource consumption.
