Discussing the recent OpenAI/HuggingFace security incident, researcher ArthurConmy argued that while providing more context to CoT (Chain-of-Thought) monitors is necessary, stripping out the CoT entirely would not work as well. He predicts that certain tool calls would be extremely difficult to interpret in context without the CoT.
