DARPA Lift Contest Winners: Avidrone Takes $1.25M Top Prize

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) has announced the winners of its personal flying machine competition, the Lift Contest.
- 1st Place: Avidrone ($1.25M prize)
- 2nd Place: MTech ($750K prize)
- 3rd Place: Xtreme Aerial ($500K prize)
The competing machines are designed to be portable enough for an individual to carry, while having the capacity to lift and transport a person for approximately 5 miles.
