The author proposes a framework for understanding AI development: history is essentially a story of continuous infrastructure improvement. The true limiting factor for current AI advancement is already the cost of maintaining existing infrastructure.
Furthermore, in a world filled with AGI minds on Earth and in space, the absolute necessity of high-bandwidth communication is severely underestimated and largely misunderstood.
