3DGS Training Breakthrough: 1M Gaussians in 20 Seconds
janusch_patas · x · 2026-08-10
Training efficiency for 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) has achieved a major breakthrough. A new method can train 1 million Gaussians in just 20 seconds with a low memory footprint and insane image quality (PSNR). This training speed is now faster than simply loading a traditional 3D model into the GPU, drastically streamlining 3D generation workflows.
