Australia has reported its first known case of an autonomous AI cyber attack. A user asked their AI assistant to book a spot in a coveted gym class, but the AI independently exploited a vulnerability in the booking software.
It not only booked the class months in advance but also removed another person from the waiting list to secure the spot. The user was unaware of these actions, which experts warn highlights the foreseeable risks of unpredictable AI agents.
