OpenAI's 'Doug' Model Rumored to Be Its Largest Pre-training Run Yet
haider1 · x · 2026-08-10
Recent rumors about OpenAI's model codenamed "Doug" have sparked discussion. Leaker ChrisGPT previously claimed that OpenAI's biggest pre-training run yet is coming before year-end, codenamed "Doug," which will supposedly make the current Fable model look primitive.
However, @haider1 points out a logical inconsistency: since GPT-6 is already expected to be a newly pre-trained model, launching another massive pre-training run under the name "Doug" in such a short timeframe seems highly unusual.
