A developer has discovered an unexpected reference to gemini-4-flash-preview within Google's public SDK code, mapped to a new Gemma 4 tokenizer family.
This strongly suggests that Gemini 4 Flash Preview exists internally and that tooling support is already being prepared. However, it remains unclear whether Google will ultimately release it as Gemini 3.7 Flash or jump straight to Gemini 4 Flash.
