AI Settles a 25-Year-Old Open Theoretical Problem in Wireless Communications

Researcher Dimitris Papailiopoulos shared an article indicating that GPT-5.6 and Claude Fable appear to have settled an open theoretical question in wireless communications.
The problem was intensely studied between 2000 and the 2010s, which the author briefly worked on before it was set aside. Now, with the help of frontier LLMs, this decades-old academic puzzle has been effectively resolved.
