WSJ: CXMT Maxes Out Capacity, Prioritizing ByteDance and Domestic AI Demand
firstadopter · x · 2026-08-09
According to the Wall Street Journal, CXMT has maxed out its production capacity this year, leaving little room for new international clients like Apple. Some of its storage products are now fetching prices on par with or at a premium to those of Micron, SK Hynix, and Samsung.
The report notes that CXMT is prioritizing domestic tech giants like ByteDance, Tencent, and Xiaomi, which are aggressively expanding their AI offerings. To meet the surging demand, CXMT is building new plants and aims to more than double its current production capacity by 2028.
