AI tool Refine has partnered with the American Economic Association (AEA) and the Econometric Society to integrate its AI-assisted technical verification into academic publishing.
A pilot run by AEA journals showed overwhelmingly positive reactions, with roughly 90% of authors favoring its incorporation into the editorial process. Refine acts as a detailed technical proofreader rather than a referee.
