NextSlide.ai Leaves No Product Footprint, OpenAI Acquisition Questioned
Shadowdancerdone · reddit · 2026-08-09
OpenAI's recent announcement of acquiring NextSlide.ai has sparked significant skepticism within the community.
The author dug deep and found that NextSlide.ai had virtually no substantial public product footprint before the acquisition:
- Lack of demos: Despite being an AI presentation startup, there are no generated slide examples or product demos available online.
- Minimal traces: No Product Hunt launches, no funding records, no GitHub repositories, and a relatively recent domain registration.
While this could be an extremely stealthy acqui-hire, the complete opacity is highly unusual compared to most acquired AI startups. The author is calling for more evidence of what the company actually built.
