According to a leak, OpenAI's next-gen model GPT-6 (codenamed Astra) is still on track for release this month despite government delays. It features a fresh 10T pre-train. OpenAI researchers are reportedly unbothered by Sol, viewing Astra as the real leap, being considerably better than Fable at everything. About 9 months ago, OpenAI made a push, reallocating compute and reshuffling the team to counter Anthropic's lead in pre-training.
