DeepMind's WeatherNext Model Published in Nature Gives 24h Extra Cyclone Lead Time

Google DeepMind has introduced WeatherNext Cyclones, a new AI weather forecasting model detailed in a paper published in Nature.
The model achieves state-of-the-art accuracy in predicting storm track and intensity. Compared to leading traditional forecasting systems, it provides an average of 24 hours of additional lead time, enabling earlier evacuations and potentially saving lives.
