Nvidia invests $3B in power infra as Amazon builds massive gas plant

Driven by the AI industry's surging power demands, tech giants are heavily investing in energy infrastructure. Nvidia plans to invest up to $3 billion in Lancium, a Texas-based power infrastructure developer with 4 gigawatts of capacity under contract. Concurrently, Amazon is constructing a gas-fired power plant in Texas with up to 7.65 gigawatts of capacity, which could emit 33 million tons of CO₂ annually, potentially making it the dirtiest plant in the US.
