QuerySplat: Decoupling Geometry and Appearance in Feed-Forward 3DGS
janusch_patas · x · 2026-08-09
QuerySplat is a new feed-forward 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) framework designed to overcome spatial inflexibility and structural redundancy in existing methods.
The core innovation is a dual-branch decoder: the geometry branch leverages a pretrained Vision Geometric Model for spatial understanding, enabling pose-free modeling. Meanwhile, the appearance branch recovers high-frequency details via a dedicated pathway separated from geometric attribute regression. Experiments show that QuerySplat mitigates the blurry rendering issues of early models and outperforms pixel-aligned approaches in rendering quality.
