OpenAI Acquires NextSlide to Fix ChatGPT's Presentation Weakness

OpenAI has acquired NextSlide, a one-year-old presentation startup, integrating its entire team into ChatGPT.
NextSlide specialized in converting prompts, notes, and research into editable presentations. This addresses ChatGPT's weakest output point, as its natively generated .pptx files previously resulted in plain white slides with unformatted text. OpenAI subsequently launched a PowerPoint add-in to create and edit slides directly within the app. The move catches up to Anthropic and Google, which already offer similar slide-generation capabilities.
