Kevin O'Leary's newly approved massive data center in Utah is projected to generate a staggering 16 gigawatts of heat. According to calculations by physicist Rob Davies, the facility—covering an area the size of Washington D.C.—could raise nighttime temperatures in the surrounding desert valley significantly, preventing natural dew formation and permanently stripping local ecosystems of a vital water source.

Furthermore, cited analysis indicates that such massive data centers can increase ambient temperatures by up to 9°C within a 10-kilometer radius. By 2030, global data center water consumption is projected to match the usage of 1.3 billion people, highlighting the escalating ecological costs of AI infrastructure expansion.
