OpenAI's 'Doug' Model to Launch by November, Promising Quantum Leap
Neurogence · reddit · 2026-08-09
OpenAI is reportedly developing a new flagship model codenamed Doug. Slated for release after Astra, it is expected to be OpenAI's largest pre-train to date.
Sources suggest Doug will make the current Fable model look 'primitive.' Factoring in pre-training time, White House regulations, and extensive cybersecurity testing, the model is projected to launch no later than November.
