According to leaks, OpenAI plans to launch its largest pre-training run to date by the end of the year. The model, reportedly codenamed Doug, is expected to be vastly superior, making current frontier models look 'primitive.' Furthermore, GPT-5.5 will not be the final major iteration, with GPT-6 also positioned to be a highly capable model.
