AI Settles a 25-Year-Old Wireless Communication Theory Problem

Dimitris Papailiopoulos shared that AI has successfully solved an open theoretical question in wireless communications studied since 2000: recovering exactly N bits sent through an N×N Gaussian wireless channel when the signal-to-noise ratio is at least 2 log N.
Researcher @wenhaocha1 commented that AI's power lies in trying huge combinations of existing ideas (A+B). Many hard problems don't require new math but the right assembly of known concepts. He marveled at the beauty of self-evolution, where simple things create complexity far beyond their origins given enough time.
