AI coding speed raises technical debt concerns: code complexity increases
ingliguori · x · 2026-08-09
It is argued that AI coding agents are increasing development speed but also creating a new problem: technical debt at machine speed. Recent research suggests that agent-driven development can increase velocity while also increasing code complexity and static-analysis warnings. The key question is no longer 'how much code can AI write?' but 'how much of that code will we still want to maintain in 12 months?'
