According to a report by Pathfounders, DeepMind founder Demis Hassabis wanted to leave alongside Jeff Dean during recent leadership changes. However, Google management persuaded him to transition to a Chairman role instead, fearing his departure would cause a collapse in the stock price, which had already fallen 5% following previous announcements.
